Came for the barbacoa left with the last of it and some brisket, pinto beans and yummy food for another meal. I'd for sure be selling the barbacoa during the week but that's just my opinion. This was always my favorite from the Rio Grande tacos. Bris... ket was good, little dry plenty of salt but I'm a different cat on Brisket. No bread or pickles for me, just some BBQ sauce and I'm good. Just forgot to check my order before leaving and missed out on the diced onions and chopped cilantro on the barbacoa tacos but that's ok. The salsa made up for the cilantro flavor and the beans are on point! People from other states don't know how to make beans and just need to try those to know, they are really good beans! Read more

Their tamales are made with pork and beef. They have great flavor and are filled with meat not skimpy. The BBQ is also very good and tasty! The employees are also very nice and helpful. We had brisket, sausage, Spanish rice, Mac and cheese and baked potato. Everything was excellent but the Mac and cheese, it was just average. If we come back to Galveston we will for sure be stopping back!

Just had our first plate from here. WOW! We were a bit early for chicken but the brisket and barbacoa were amazing! The bark, flavor, tenderness were easy 8.5! 🏆 But let me tell you about the sides. The potato salad, made with red potatoes, had a li... ttle skin and had a nice portion of pickle juice, both of which I love. The pinto beans were delicious. The bbq sauce is vinegar more than sweet, tasted like nothing I've had from a bottle, gotta be made in-house. Probably one of best all-round plates of BBQ I've had. But the tamales, DAAAAAM. The masa was moist, didn't fall apart, and was nearly wrapped in the husk, came out clean, didn't leave half the masa on the husk. And the half beef, half pork was seasoned well. Wonderful little island secret. I love the Brisket and the baked potato. The green beans are my favorite, though. I've only gotten to go but the outdoor area looks nice and cozy. The 3 meat plate is my go-to, I can't choose just one..
